Mike Wilson – Board of Education President
Mike Wilson and his wife Lisa became official members of the St John’s congregation in 2015. Mike has two AAS degrees from College of DuPage in Fire Science and Emergency Medical Services. He is currently a full time professional Firefighter, Licensed Paramedic, and Hazardous Materials Technician for the Hinsdale Fire Department. Mike and Lisa’s daughter began school at St John’s in January 2017 and since then his drive has been to support the students and congregation of St. Johns in any way he can.
Karen Ciango
Karen Ciango has been a member of St. John’s all her life, being both baptized and confirmed here. Mrs. Ciango is a retired public school teacher who spent 35 years teaching numerous grade levels as well as doing private tutoring in both reading and math. During the 1993-94 school year, she was the interim principal at St. John’s. She loves working with children and in recent years has “adopted” the first grade classroom at St. John’s and also has volunteered her time 2 afternoons a week in Mrs. Mannes’ 4th grade classroom, teaching science and novel studies.
Art Schroeder
Art Schroeder has been a member of St. John’s since birth. He was baptized in the old white church, attended St. John’s school from Kindergarten thru eighth grade, graduated and was confirmed in 1975. Art then graduated from Lyons Township High School in 1979. He is currently President of Associate General Laboratories, Inc. and has served on the Board of Education since 2011.
Mike Damergis
Mike, his wife Amber, and their three children became members of St. John’s in January 2022. Their two older children have attended St. John’s since 2019, while their youngest was baptized at St. John’s in July 2022. Mike works in financial services and has a Bachelors and Masters in Accountancy from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, as well as a Juris Doctorate from Chicago-Kent College of Law. Mike enjoys volunteering for the school and making connections with other parents to promote the Mission of St. John’s Lutheran Church and School.
